I was a bit sad when they didn't do anything about it in the beginning of the 1974. Considering Snoopy played another 20+ years after this series, it's safe to say he owns the record. :pajnruleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07990303219460863679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8308814967611371361.post-43850119451635898872009-02-11T12:37:00.000-06:002009-02-11T12:37:00.000-06:00Not only was this series of cartoons a smart socia...Not only was this series of cartoons a smart social commentary, but the ending was absolutely hilarious. Aaron's hate mail and the public's reaction to his run has been documented thoroughly in recent years, but it's really neat to see artists subverting that racism. I wonder what Schulz would write about today? Would Snoopy be on the juice? The Common Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09994070642805307798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8308814967611371361.post-46442361598491708432009-02-10T20:40:00.000-06:002009-02-10T20:40:00.000-06:00great job, Lar. There was a real fear that he could be shot by some wacko, since it had only been 6 years since the murder of Martin Luther King, and race relations in the US left a lot to be desired. The other memorable thing about the game in which he broke the record was the fact that, after he hit the record-breaking home run in the 4th inning, the once-full stadium was close to empty by the end of the 5th inning.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09687860008593988061noreply@blogger.com
